The Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice MAK Mei-kuen, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Clarence LEUNG Wang-ching and representatives of the Home Affairs Department visited the office of the Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) today to learn more about the work of the PMSA including the recent progress in implementing the property management (PM) licensing regime and the Anti-epidemic Support Scheme for Environmental Hygiene and Security Staff in Property Management Sector (ASPM). They also gave encouragement to the dedicated ASPM project team and thanked them for their hard work in the last few months in vetting and disbursing subsidies so that frontline PM workers could be benefitted.
Secretary MAK and Under Secretary LEUNG also listened to the PMSA Chairperson Tony TSE and Chief Executive Officer Alan SIU’s report on the work of the PMSA.
Chairperson TSE said, “The PMSA Members and I would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Secretary MAK and Under Secretary LEUNG for visiting the PMSA office shortly after their appointments to learn about the work of the PMSA. This truly reflects that the Home and Youth Affair Bureau values and supports raising the professional standard and the progressive development of the PM industry in Hong Kong. The PMSA looks forward to continuing working closely with the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau as well as the Home Affairs Department in the future to drive the development of the PM industry of Hong Kong towards higher quality and professional standard.”
Since the implementation of the PM industry licensing regime from August 2020, the PMSA has issued over 8,000 property management practitioner and property management company licences.
For the ASPM, the application period has closed on June 30 and the PMSA has received over 18,000 applications covering over 200,000 frontline PM workers. The PMSA has up to now granted over $1.5 billion in subsidies benefitting over 160,000 frontline PM workers.
