The Property Management Services Authority (PMSA) announced today that the Fellows/Members of the “Land Surveying Division” and “Quantity Surveying Division” of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) have been added to its list of “Recognized Professional Bodies” (RPBs). These memberships are in compliance with the requirement concerning professional qualification for the issue of property management practitioner (Tier 1) licence by the PMSA.
The PMSA Chairperson Mr Tony TSE said, “The six divisions of the HKIS have all successively applied for and obtained recognition as RPBs successfully. The PMSA welcomes more professional bodies within the industry to participate and become RPBs. We encourage diversified development within the industry, and will work together with various professional bodies to promote the industry’s development for enhancement in professionalism and quality.”
The PMSA examines all RPB applications based on the five criteria in respect of the organisation concerned, namely, relevance to the property management profession in Hong Kong, its membership criteria, mechanism to regulate professional conduct, requirement on members’ continuing professional development, as well as recognition of the organisation within the industry.
Under the property management licensing regime, one of the criteria for holding a property management practitioner (Tier 1) licence is that the applicant must be a member of the PMSA RPBs.
